THe Asians Are My Friends.

I usually like to write out my entries on paper, but I just have to get this one out of my head. I wonder what asians in America think of american stupidity? I live in an apartment complex and every time I go to the gym they are their running, playing ball, weights. I recently went to the mall to shop for clothes, and I usually don't shop for clothes in my nice clothes, just because I know I'm going to be removing and putting back on and that does a lot to your clothing. But I'd set up a meeting at the Apple store that day so I wanted to look nice. I wore the most unique pair of ankle high lace tie high heels, they were like men's Caterpillar boots, the laces were the yellow one's. Totally feminine and deserving of compliments I felt considering I pulled them off well. Not to mention found them for a great price hidden on a rack at the thrift store. Anyway back to my story, so I'm walking inside the mall and pass this group of "asians" as I would call them, winking at me and just noticing my sweet find, one of them even nodded at me! This made me feel great. But on my way out the mall I passed a group of American's decked out in Dutch gear and things from Tilly's, and I actually heard one of the girls scoff at my shoes. This may have been due in part to jealousy, because I heard absolutely nothing from the guys in the group. Either way it seems to me a difference in culture appreciation and respect for individualism, and style. Which most of my fellow American's seem to lack. Sorry just telling the truth. Alot of people I know are afraid to wear something used or different. I have this plaid jacket that passes my waist. It's green and reminds me of Christmas. The ONLY reason I bought it is because it is totally rediculous. I like to amuse myself in this way with clothing. On a night out with a friend I had to change my jacket for my friend because she was so uncomfortable with it that she was started to make me uncomfortable. So I changed into something more.... classic, neutral. Not really my style. But I did it for her, because she couldn't handle my jacket. She wanted me to look like her. The rest of the night was a little dampened by this and it sucked. All I'm saying is that bright colors and mismatched clothing is o.k. when done tastefully. And the group of people that seem to be o.k. with it are the asians that acknowledged me at the mall. The asians that live in my apartment complex have also acknowledged me in a positive way. They notice that I'm there on my computer, and totally consumed by recent technology and knowledge. And I feel they respect that. WELL I respect them for this. And wish my fellow American mall rats and shoppers to stop overanalyzing ! It seems the asians have a fair amount of equanimity installed in them that the American's could definetly use a dose of.
